Use the phone or Apple Watch app to track your walks and runs. Million Miles uses GPS to record your route and work out your distance, pace and time.
Million Miles tracks your activity like any running app. The difference is every mile you log is added to one shared goal, alongside everyone else who joins. It's brand new, the counter's only just started, and we're going to get there together.

The moment you finish, your distance is added to the community total. You'll always see exactly what you've contributed and how far there is to go.
Milestones on the way to a million are everyone's, not one person's. Shared challenges, badges and a week-by-week picture of what we've all done keep it fun in between.
Most fitness apps rank you against everyone else. Million Miles aims to have everyone work together on shared challenges and contribute to the same finish line. So there's a running count of what we've all done this week, challenges with a shared goal, and a place to cheer each other on.
Badges for the things that actually keep people going: showing up early, showing up late, cheering someone else on. Not just distance.
Hi, I'm Gav. I'm a software engineer who loves hiking, running, and being outdoors.
Million Miles is my passion project: a way to find out whether, together, we can walk and run a million miles.
I wanted to build something positive, a way to encourage people to be active that's collaborative rather than competitive. Wherever you are on your fitness journey, every step does the same good for your body and mind, and every mile counts towards something we're building together.
It's completely free. No paywall, no ads, no premium tier. I cover the hosting costs myself.
I look forward to you joining me on the journey.

Yes. No subscription, no locked features, no ads. It's a personal project, not a business.
Both, equally. A mile walked is a mile. Most of the million will come from walks.
We'll celebrate, together, all at once — and then decide what's next as a community.
We use it to measure your activity while it's recording, and to draw your route on your own activity page. Your routes aren't shared with other people and are never sold. See our privacy policy.
Yes, through Apple Health. Turn on Apple Health sync in Settings and any walk or run with a GPS route that lands in Apple Health — from Garmin, Strava, Nike Run Club or most other apps — is added to your miles. Activities you record in Million Miles are saved to Apple Health too.
Not yet, but it's coming. Leave your email below and you'll get one message when it launches.
Yes, for Apple Watch. It's included with the iPhone app: start a walk or run from your wrist, see your distance, pace, time and heart rate as you go, and pause or finish from either the watch or the phone. Miles are counted the moment you finish. Other watches work through Apple Health sync.
